For taunting, celebration before the endzone, etc. Since Wings TD was called back...why wasn't this one? He was clearly celebrating before he scored.

yeah, but that isn't the entirety of the rule. the rule is that you can't taunt the other team or celebrate in any way before you cross the goal line. it specifically mentions pointing fingers and drawing attention to yourself.

Well maybe the refs are more lenient when there is no taunting involved.

It's not like what he is doing is poor sportsmanship which I think is what the intent of the rule is.

It's a stupid rule that every official outside of the damn SEC realizes shouldn't be called.

i agree...i just think intent shouldn't be considered...it should be enforced the way the rule is written.

like the illegal hits that are being called...the defensive players can't control what the offensive players do..I'm sure the majority of them aren't intending to go helmet to helmet or make a dirty hit. The rule is meant to deter players that intend to hurt another player from actually doing it.

It is the PAC 12 they reverse rules they don't follow them. One he does not appear to be taunting but two even if he was taunting the refs probably figured the PAC 12 would reverse the call anyway.

Did anyone see GT's first TD against Clemson? The guy did the same thing LSU's punter did, but worse IMO, and nothing. That was on 4th and Goal. I think the rule is stupid, but if it's a rule, you have to call that.
