What are you baws hearing? Arizona must feel pretty good about the situation to have still not fired Miller given the allegations the FBi has brought everyone’s attention to

Gigantic unanswered question is whether more is on a wiretap.

What's known to date, most people are confident in Miller surviving. The only direct evidence pointing to us paying players is Book Richardson asking for 15k for Jahvon Quinerly. Most people think Book was lying to get himself petty cash.

Quinerly's been cleared by the NCAA without repaying anything or sitting at all. General thought is that if the NCAA thought there was proof, JQ wouldn't be eligible.

The rest of the stuff is rumors. The ESPN report got pretty heavily debunked after and the timeline is dead wrong from the first trial. Our assistant got fired recent for something unrelated that we won't face penalty for. The rest is rumors.

Realistically, we are probably part of the same game all other top recruiting schools are. It would be silly with the Wade story today to be 100% confident there's nothing more on a wire, though.

Thanks for the feedback. It’s been awhile since the Sean Miller allegations came to light, and I just assumed if Arizona feels like Miller will survive then LSU and wade will be fine

I wouldn't go that far. Miller's never been on tape saying something like it's reported Wade did.

ESPN's story was the closest, but it was had zero quotes, ESPN issued multiple retractions and the timeline was directly contradicted by the evidence in the first trial. If the Wade wiretap comes out publicly, I would not be confident he survives.

Same with Miller. If an actual wire comes with him saying what Wade is supposed to have said, he's probably done.

Arizona Athletics is in a deep hole financially in large part because of the RichRod buyout. The school is waiting to fire Miller for cause so they don't have to pay a $10 million buyout. The school simply cant afford that and get another quality coach with his buyout from another school and salary. The current AD has done a horrible job tapping the boosters for financial support and the ones who are giving to the school support Miller.

There are a lot of fans who are sick of Miller and want him gone, but just as many point to his recruiting and current number one class. They fail to see Arizona made Miller and recruits itself. He wont be fired unless the tapes are very damning.

I, as someone who has been a major Zona fan for more than 30 years, am disgusted by what he has done to this once proud program. I am sick of his 1970's archaic offense, refusal to adjust his style of play and now the constant embarrassment he provides to the national press. He cant be fired soon enough, as far as I am concered. For the past 17 years, I have contributed decent sized donations to the athletic department, but that is done until he is shite canned.

Book was making 250-300 a year minimum (probably more) for a decade. Why would he try to scam 15K out of a runner for ASM? Seems improbable to me but I’m always amazed at the things people risk their livelihood for.

I think the biggest question is what Schalbach really heard about Miller and Ayton. That’s been a strange story from the start.

Besides Quinerly, wasn’t there some Nassir Little tie?

I’m trying to keep all of my info sorted. Gatto, Code and Dawkins were sentenced yesterday. The Okla State coach, the USC coach, and Book from Arizona all took plea deals with the first two expected to get probation.

And then there are still several trials left, including one for Chuck Person, another trial for Code, and one for TJ Grassnola. There’s still something left with that tailor, too, if I remember correctly.

Book was previously suspended by Miller for selling team info to PointguardU website for $3,000. It wouldn't be the first time he risked his career for chump change.

The Little tie was Gatto saying Miami saying told him they needed 150k for Little bc that's what Arizona was offering. That Miami allegation was dismissed by the prosecution from trial 1 and Little has also been eligible since. Day 1.

The Ayton story, I will break down the many issues when I have time, but that report has MANY issues.

Ayton story:

First, Schlabach never had any direct quotes, just a single source saying Miller was discussing 100k for Ayton to commit.

First timeline, he said the conversation was early 2017. That was bizarre bc Ayton committed in September, 2016. Also, as we later learned, Dawkins wasn't even wiretapped then.

Then, they changed to late 2016, which at least brought it close to Ayton's commitment date. Problem being, that's even further from when Dawkins was tapped.

Finally, the timeline got amended to claim the conversation was around June, 2017. That left an open question as to why we needed to offer 100k after Ayton was locked up, but was closer (still a few weeks off, though) from when Dawkins was wiretapped.

Yahoo published a piece that they had sources saying ESPN's claim was not true a few days after. So, at best it is a battle of sources with ESPN's timeline in constant flux and basically left incorrect. Over a year later, no corroboration has ever emerged.

Look, Miller might still be on a wire. But ESPN's story was a shot in the dark hoping to be true.

And sorry for overloading the thread with Arizona info, but this is close to my heart.

Something in the new indictment that likely won't get attention: The charge against Book Richardson for defrauding Arizona and causing players to become ineligible has been dropped. That means the only charges are bribe related between Dawkins/Richardson related to the agency.
