Wouldn't a game manager not be top 5 in passing yards?

I agree. This year is not over and Wilson will not finish in the top five this season.

Wilson’s passing yards per season rank:

2016= 10
2015= 12
2014= 15
2013= 16
2012= 23

These are the season passing yards of a game manager in a pass happy league. 2016 was his best rankings ever when he finished number 10. But during the 2016 season Wilson had 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions which is very game manager like.

Russel Wilson is a running back with a strong arm.

I would be interested to know how many of his passing yards are after the catch. Probably a big chunk of them. He does not throw the ball down field as much as the elite quarterbacks. He usually just dinks and dunks his way down field most of the time and runs the ball quite a bit.

Wilson is 4th in TD %, 1st in yards per attempt, and 6th in passer rating since he entered the league. He's plenty capable, but they don't ask him to do too much, at least in years past.

This year he's #4 in attempts per game and #2 in yards per game. Seems like a dumb time to start this kind of thread.

He's 6th in average air yards per catch. The top 5 are Watson, Stanton, Trubisky, Wentz, and Winston.

We saw what happened when he was asked to do something on the biggest stage.

Defense won his first Super Bowl and Seattle should have let Marshawn Lynch win another.

Anybody who uses counting stats instead of rate stats when discusing QB play in the NFL is a lost cause. No need to argue with stupid people.

You can't just go by passing TDs. Some QBs rack up on them in goal line fades while teams like Seattle usually run the ball in with the NE super bowl incident being an anomaly. I do agree with the premise Wilson is nothing more than a game manager though.

A quarterback that is responsible for carrying his offense is not a game manager. Just my opinion.

Watch the fricking games stat nerd. “Game Manager” is the last thing I would describe Wilson as.

You should stick with politics and "ESPN sucks" topics.

I admit I haven't watched him in a couple years since the NFL has been so shitty so he may be a different player than I last remember

He wasn't a game manager a couple years ago, either.

The last time I really watched was 2014 and he had 217 yds/game which was the most in his 3 year career at that point. He was a game manager.

If you haven't watched him in 3 years why would you input your (clearly wrong) opinion

In 2014...

Passing and rushing, 35 "attempts" per game.

Passing and rushing, 270 yards per game. 4300 total yards.

Game manager, indeed.

I mean, are we surprised that Misdial doesn't actually watch sports?
