I mean he should be thankful for the opportunity, after Meyer’s poor hiring on hiring of an offensive coordinator after Herman left culminating in the 31-0 embarrassment against Clemson in the 2016 CFP.

But if he had just kept the same personnel going into his first season, then OSU would likely have had Alex Grinch as the defensive coordinator and Tathan Martell as the quarterback with essentially no depth behind him.

Instead he brought in Jeff Hafley as the DC, and immediately went from the worst defensive in many decades to the best defense in the nation, and Justin Fields as the QB and went from maybe the worst QB group in OSU history to a heisman finalist, first round draft pick, and one of the best QBs in OSU history.
