Undefeated this year with another ship and a plethora of talent in the wings.

let's ask why I seen their bus at Joe Davies Elementary in Meraux today. I'm sure there were legit reasons...

Oh, he’s had some serious talent go through there. Anybody who recruits openly at the high school level is not going to get my vote for best coach ever. There are guys near him on the wins list who play public school ball against bigger competition.

I’ll respect JT for what he has done, but it’s not like he’s made chicken salad out of chicken shite.

This. If it was the veer, then shouldn't basically every high school team everywhere run it?

Tell us about this, please
To end one of Curtis' 40 something win streaks in 1982, a AA team from Winnfield led by Doug Moreau rolled into the dome and also ran the veer. After the first quarter Curtis was down 20-0. They were a little confused that the rednecks could do that, and Curtis was heard chastising his fans and band about getting behind the team. (Sound like Saban?)

They wound up losing to Winnfield 23-14. It was Winnfield's only state championship in the modern era. Coach Moreau left Winnfield a couple of years later to coach at St. Amant, then went on to Ascension (I think) and had a successful career.

No doubt Curtis is a great coach, and it sure seems like he always has D1 type athletes. If I'd played for Curtis instead of Winnfield back then, I'd probably feel the same way about him as I do about Coach Moreau.

The two teams played again in 2011 for the championship (Curtis won in dominating fashion)and after that, the Winnfield principal was the main reason that the playoff split was set up - to negate the advantages of the private schools.
I don't agree with the split at all btw.

Now Winnfield sucks and Curtis is still kicking arse.
