It's not really a state, we just call it that so we can get to 50.

Need to just go ahead and upgrade by adding Puerto Rico and dropping ohio.

Alabama, as an example, is a very good high school football state, but it's neck and neck with Michigan as far as the number of NFL players from the state at the moment

quote:

and Illinois actually isn't too far behind

Neither of these statements is remotely correct.Hell,SC
produces more than either Michigan or Illinois

Illinois,Michigan aND even Ohio are trending downward in their NFL production...obviously due to population shifts but also due to HS FB being somewhat de-emphasizedifferent

quote:

Alabama hasn't been great because they've locked down the state or the surrounding states

Yea,it is pretty much the reason they've been great especially if you look at Saban's 1st 6 recruiting classes...less than 7 recruits were from NJ,NY or CA (didn't look at the JC signees home state origins so there could be a few more)

and the SEC was great from 2006 through about 2013 o

Still put 6 teams in the top 25 in '14...still more than any other conference. If you wanna make the case for '15 and '16 that's fine.

quote:

And a lot of these big Midwestern powers

Like who? The only one I can think of is Ohio and there
are still multiple G5 programs in the state that occasionally could steal a player or 2.

quote:

Notre Dame still pulls in top 10 or top 15 classes basically every single year with the occasional #1 or #2 overall class (

You had a #2 10 years ago and #3 in '13

quote:

been another blah conference for at least five or six years
Once again,if you wanna say that about '15 and '16 you might have a point but "five or six years" is idiotic.

quote:

It really all comes down to coaching in college football. Has always thus been and will always thus be.

Coaching is absolutely vital but it also takes huge money, recruiting base and a cooperative administration.

Recruiting is more important than ever been because
you might only get a player 3 years and you also have less practice hours for development.CFB is not the same sport it was even 20 years ago

Exactly?

It's a shitty piece of land filled with shitty people. Akron sucks. Columbus sucks. Toledo sucks. Cincinnati sucks. Cleveland sucks. Miami (and frick them for even besmirching the real Miami by having a town called Miami) sucks. The Bengals suck. The Browns (what a fricking lame team name, IDGAF what cute backstory they trot out) suck. The Indians suck. Couldn't even beat the frickin' lovable losers of baseball in the goddamn world series. The cavs fricking suck--the GOAT player had to break his back to bring them one asterisk-laden title before he skipped the state. For the SECOND time. ohio is AN ohio "state" "university." A buckeye is a fricking plant. They don't even have a real flag. Just threw up a fricking pennant with a divot in it and called it a day. SeaWorld squatted in Aurora for only 30 years before they said "frick this, we're out." The Cleveland airport is a goddamn dump that makes KANSAS CITY'S airport look amazing by comparison.

That's the short list of why I hate ohio. Sorry for keeping it brief. I'm tired.

TL;DR: frick 94.7% of the state of ohio
