Not sure why y'all want to let these "wildcards" in.

You didn't win your Conf. You don't deserve to win a National Championship. Take the 4 conference champions with the best resume.

Va Tech beats Clemson
Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma
Penn State beats Wisconsin

What a playoff that would be.

I want the 4 best teams with the best resume, not the 4 teams with worse resumes but a meaningless title.

Nope. Not every team is in a conference, and a conference championship refers to only a fraction of a team's season. Take the entire slate of games, and take the top 4.

If that would happen I'd argue an undefeated conference champion Western Michigan should get in over Virginia Tech.

WM vs Alabama
Oklahoma State vs Penn State.
Winners play for the title.

So Ohio State sits at home and rests up while Clemson goes to battle next Saturday with their playoff hopes on the line in a conference championship?

Pretty much how I feel. Alabama, PSU, and Clemson all have to play another tough game and risk having key players injured.

Ohio State doesn't have a game next week. Clemson has a game next week that they conditionally agreed years ago to play. Neither is a situation that warrants the other's assuaging.

Clearly it is.

Sometimes you do. Ohio State may pull it off this year.

Ohio State is at home because they lost a game they shouldn't have.

Clemson has a game because they took care of their business in conference play.

Your post makes no sense.

If a team can't be the best team out of 7 throughout an 8-game sample size, then that team needs to sit their arse at home and watch the playoffs on TV.

It's the elimination before the elimination. Or at least it should be.
