Wood has been solid

No, its perfectly reasonable to compare a 21 year old with a few months of major league experience to one of the greatest hitters ever.

Yeah very clutch pitch. I'm very impressed with Wood today.

You're an idiot. They didn't compare him to Ted Williams to say he is one of the greatest hitters of all time. They compared the swing. I guess you aren't capable of understanding the difference.

Their swings are nothing alike.

Where exactly did I say they were? Oh yeah, I didn't. I said that's all they were comparing. To compare the mechanics of two players' swings means absolutely nothing. There is a guy that can emulate just about every player's stance and swings. That doesn't mean that he can hit like them.

I don't think anyone follows through like that anymore

You didn't, nor did I say you did. But if they are nothing alike and have nothing in common, why compare them? It's like someone comparing Mark Price to Lebron James.
But my God you are defensive...it's nothing personal bro.

I don't know why they compared them on the broadcast?? I'm listening to the game on the radio. This tool in here is trying to make it sound like they are trying to say that Rizzo hits as well as Ted Williams and is in his first full season in the big leagues, which they didn't say. If they think thier swings look alike, who cares?

Not only can he not hit, but he can't field either

Posted on 4/4/13 at 1:24 pm to PurpleAndGold86
It was the classic "I'm not saying he will hit like Ted, but their swings look similar"... Then he laughed and said "all he has to do is hit .400 a couple if times and hit 520 HRs". They didn't say anything abt being as good as Teddy

McCutcheon was dead to rights and Lilbridge can't pick a ball that a high school shortstop could pick.

quote:Exactly. I'm not even watching it and I could figure it out. This tool that isn't even a Cubs fan was clearly coming in here to troll.

James Russell coming in to shut them down.

Meanwhile... I'm getting nervous
Posted on 4/4/13 at 1:28 pm to bwallcubfan
With our offense having a chance t be historically bad our pitchers aren't allowed a single run
Posted on 4/4/13 at 1:29 pm to LSU Tiger09
What I'm nervous about is how the bullpen is shaking out today. If Russell get through this inning with the lead, they are going to bring in Fujikawa for the 8th, which only leaves Marmol for the 9th. If we only have a 1-0 lead at that point. Uh-oh.
