I don't under how people can reasonably say they'd rather have Murray over Peterson. He is one of the best running backs of all time and had a year off. I think it probably helped him in the long run, considering he would have had to carry another rookie QB the whole season. There is no one in the NFL now or in the last 20 years I would want playing RB for my team than Adrian Peterson.

Here is the real issue.

The Cowboys will not offer big money to both Murray and Dez Bryant. One of them will have to walk.

Let Murray walk. Sign Peterson cheaply. Give Bryant his big contract.

Problem solved.

AP.

He's gonna be super fresh from being suspended almost the entire season this past year. Murray has been injury prone most of his career and is coming off of a season where he had 392 carries and 57receptions... 449 total touches. That's absurd for anyone, even more so considering Murrays injury history.

I think AP is gonna have a huge season next year.

Peterson - basically had a year away from football, 2 years older (30, which is usually when RBs decline rapidly).

We also know that Peterson isn't the usual rb.
You'd be hard pressed to find another human being who takes better care of their body.
