Really wasn't my main point, but if that makes you feel better, then OK.

Point is, they didn't beat a quality opponent with their best player in 2013 and it will be much of the same in 2014 with a shite schedule that includes zero ranked opponents.

They should have no claim for a spot in the four-team playoff unless two or three of the teams I listed decide to shite the bed. It may be possible in the SEC West, which would be a shame because BYU has absolutely no reason to be in the playoff with the cupcakes on that schedule.

KState had the tie breaker, they were champs.

No, you are wrong. That is not how it works in the Big 12. They were co champs and are listed as such in official Big 12 materials. Tie breakers are for bowl selection (and at one point Big 12 title game selection) only. They have nothing to do with being the conference champ. Learn how your conference works.

There awaited a trophy. And a message from coach Bill Snyder.

"I don't know exactly where we're going," he intoned into the microphone. "I've got an idea. It's warmer out there."

That would be in the Fiesta Bowl in the desert air of Arizona – part of K-State's reward for defeating Texas 42-24 Saturday night, nailing down a share of its second Big 12 championship and only the third conference title in the 115 years that the Wildcats have fielded a football team.

Its lone league championship before that: in the old Big Six in 1934, when eventual Hall of Famer Lynn "Pappy" Waldorf spent his only season as its coach.

The Wildcats' celebration after the Big 12 trophy presentation – they finished in a tie for first with OU, both at 8-1 in the league – spilled off the field and into a raucous locker room. "It was crazy," said senior defensive end Meshak Williams. "Everyboy was excited; even Coach Snyder was excited. I saw a smile on his face. You don't see that much.

The Sooners' bowl destination won't be announced until Sunday night but there is a high probability they'll be a BCS at-large selection. What Oklahoma assured itself with Saturday's 24-17 brass-knuckle victory over TCU was another Big 12 Conference title. The players marked the occasion with a team picture on the field, wearing "Big 12 Champion" hats and t-shirts.

They even say as much on the official OU and KState's sites

K-State will look to earn the Big 12’s automatic BCS bowl berth and at least a share of the conference title Saturday as the Wildcats host Texas in the regular-season finale at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Also BYU plays 6 at home, most of teams you listed play 8 at home.

Oh, yes, I forgot BYU has/had to travel to play some juggernauts in UConn and MTSU.

Anyway, this is beating a dead horse. If you think BYU will be in the four-team playoff with that schedule, that's your opinion. I just don't think a team should be rewarded for having zero ranked opponents on their schedule.

why has the Big 12 not added BYU yet?

religious reasons.

It's the PAC-12 that doesn't want religious schools.

The Big 12 has TCU and Baylor (how "religious" they really are is debatable).

BYU will not play on Sunday, which presents problems in sports such as baseball. The Big 12 isn't too keen on moving baseball series to Thu-Sat. HTH.
