What’s self righteous about it? Shane is the bar on road courses. Wanting him to crash just so others can win is a cop out. Don’t think anyone was hoping Earnhardt crashed at talladega just so their guy can win.
And drop the “marginal driver on any other track” act too.
Dude has far less experience on ovals than every other full time driver. Cut the dude some slack.
It’s ok if you’re not a fan. But dudes a great driver who deserves credit for pivoting careers this far into it.

SVG won the NOAP race at Sonoma today.

He had the field covered. And damn, Taylor Gray ran out of gas so close to finish line. Finished last on lead lap. You would think team or him coulda managed gas better. He came in one lap before SVG. Cost him 24 points.
Some good racing. Also about SVG. Some drivers have been helping him with ovals. In return I think he is trying to help Nascar drivers get better on road courses. He posts videos of his laps in a trainer video car for all drivers to see and learn. I think he truly appreciates his Nascar chance and wants them to compete on road. If he was selfish he wouldn’t post them. He starts 6th in Cup race.

NASCAR was the refresh he was looking for. Supercars debuted a new car in 23 and he hated it. I think 24 was gonna see him dip and go do sports cars full time. The nascar opportunity opened doors he never expected.

Breath of fresh air. He’s unintentionally funny too.

I don’t think we will ever know how bad that 97 car was at the end there. But good finish between Shane and Briscoe. Briscoe made him work.

Man, that was the best burnout ever. Enclosed on 2 sides and burned it down til tire popped.

I believe SVG just called Cody Ware and the No. 51 a “shite BOX” in his post-race interview.

He ain’t wrong. Ty dillon needs to move from Kaulig and drive that car since the 51 gets built in the Childress shop.
Kaulig should put Berry in the 10. Dodge will be back next year. They could use a vet in AJ, and a serviceable guy in Berry to build data.

Update: In SVG’s post-win presser, he only specifically mentioned the No. 7 of Suarez when talking about the final few laps.
Initial post wasn’t a slight at RWR/Ware btw. Assumed he meant the No. 51 because of the somewhat contested lapping in the middle of a battle for the lead (the broadcast mentioned this in the moment as well).

Did anyone notice hardly any fans in the stands? It was super bad.

Probably the worst attended race I’ve seen in quite a while
Lots of campers but not lots of butts in seats

I wonder if the road race week prior took some fans who had to chose 1 or other?
Nascar did this to help teams with travel. But it might have hurt attendance.
And I still hate they took Daytona 4th date away.
