re: 2026 NASCAR Season Thread

So, did anyone notice Toyota had 0 cars in top 10 qualifying.

To me - and others may disagree - this helps prove mu case they are getting engine advantage.

All races are technically plate racing but reg races have a bigger spacer. I don’t think Nascar hands those out all season long just inspect randomly (nod nod wonk wink).

For big plate races (Daytone/Dega/Atlanta) they hand them out because there are so few of them and are much more restricted.

My take is Toyota is somehow able to make the reg season plate a smidge bigger. Their HP in straights is more than other makes. And now thats taken away and even playing field they do worse. There is no other logical explanation they excel on all tracks except big plates.

I’d entertain other theories but how can all cars go faster on non plate tracks and suddenly when Nascar hands out the plates they suck at qualifying. It must mean they are not making the HP. Since all cars have same restricter size in plate races they are behind. Nascar should easily see this and inspect their engines or ECU yet they haven’t done anything. Back room deal from lawsuit is one answer.

Some of the Toyota drivers doing great this year didn’t all the sudden learn better driving. And if it was areo as some have claimed they would do great at Atlanta.
