Apple/F1

So far Apple is knocking out of the park. They included the Sky sports broadcast and F1TV. I’m getting a lot more bang for my buck this year over last year

FYI, most people not watching F1 this year has nothing to do with quality of production nor costs. Its mostly out of principle to put a foot in the sand about all these sports selling to different streamers.

I also won’t watch the 5 races Nascar moved to Prime.

Indycar has a good product right now. Need more races and run later in year. Sports are so gun shy going up vs NFL but many fans of NFL would watch alternate sports if shown. Many are tiring of NFL but have little else to watch.

For me I like Nascar trucks and cup lite - they put on great races. Nascar has really ruined their main series and can gain some back if they make more/quicker changes. The HP increase was a start but not enough. Need more plus skinnier tires and let teams have some wiggle room back to be inventive.

So far no rules breakers in Nascar which means no one is pushing limits. Usually early season finds some.

Indy has a good race car plus great driver personalities. Just need more races so fans can invest and learn sport more. Too many big gaps in schedule to have fan viewer consistency. Imagine college football stopping for 3 weeks in midseason.

I want Indy to succeed because I gave up F1. Just need more races

One note I forgot to add. If F1 viewership was good then the numbers would be out already. Its Wed and nothing. All other series released numbers a day or two ago. It mist be really bad to withhold them

So even though the quality of the broadcast improved significantly you won’t watch on principle?

I wish we would have had Apple earlier when they had better motors

Yup you got it. We need these streamers to lose money so we stop losing sports to them.

Also, based on what F1 did to cars I would likely have reduced my viewing greatly. Its a horrible product now. Exactly what Nascar did and they lost 80% of peak viewers. And the exact same scenario happened. Went to COT, and when fans complained they ignored.

Check this out, a driver said he didn’t want to make passes but did. Thats not racing, drivers are just robots sitting in the seat.

I agree with you about the motors, but ESPN is also a pay for streaming product. I was not happy with the move to Apple, but I had an open mind and the product from them is better. Mainly because they included F1TV and sky sports

With the new regulations the F2 racing is actually better than F1. The F3 race was also fun

Looking forward to this race. Think we might see some hairy corners and will test drivers

The long straight at Arlington is .94 miles long. There should be a decent tow-slipstream to facilitate passing.

I’ll watch, open wheel street car races are much better than nascar. Those are boring

I go to Barber every year. Awesome event, can recommend it enough. Feels Like PGA tour event with Indycar.

Arlington should become an Indycar Crown Jewel...I have heard attendance is going to be really good- essentially a sell out at this point.

Hell of a track layout as well- maybe the best of any street circuit around right now,

With Bahrain and Jeddah being canceled Indycar has a huge chance to convert a large % of the Formula Netflix fans (real motorsport heads already know Indycar is the best series on the planet) as they will not have racing for the better part of a month

Confirmed MJ is an indycar fan... if Toyota makes the jump to Indycar (as has been rumored), I bet we could see a 23XI entry at Indy at some point
