I seriously don't know if your schtick is to be purposely obtuse or you're just a fricking moron

It took both McLarens and a Merc DNF. Feels good for Ham and Ver to podium and all but it’s not on merit.

Let's call everyone out, I would say that Max's 3rd place is 10x more valid that Issac's 5th place finish. He is horrible. Multiple penalties and a lap down for 5th place is just pure luck more than anything.

From June 1st, the FIA modified the 2026 Formula 1 technical regulations by introducing a new 130°C hot test to measure engine compression ratios. This mid-season update was introduced specifically to close a perceived loophole regarding how teams interpret the engine's compression limit.

This is the regs change that could see MERC come back to the field. I don't think we will see much at Monaco due to the type of track, but the next race at Barcelona will show a lot

Merc said they already passed the test with no changes. Whether that is a true statement will be up for debate

Saw Max made more comments Saturday night about this type of driving not being sustainable for him.... Also, some info about the 2027 changes

quote:

The recent agreement in principle from teams to make some fundamental changes to the power unit hardware for 2027, to shift the 50/50 power split from combustion and battery towards 60/40, appeared to have given Verstappen optimism that things would become more normal again.

But it became clear over the Canadian GP weekend that paddock politics had ridden roughshod over that unanimity, and left F1 lacking the necessary support needed to vote through changes into the regulations for next year.

This is why a proposal tabled by the FIA has not even got as far as a formal ballot yet - because it is obvious it does not have enough backing right now.

quote:

For change to get the green light for 2027, it will require backing from four of the six manufacturers - to secure a supermajority in the Power Unit Advisory Committee.

Right now, only Mercedes and Red Bull are in favour. Audi, Ferrari and Cadillac are firmly against for different reasons, while Honda sits somewhere between these two camps.

Saw where Ham and Max both had some thoughts on it. Ham doesn’t like the heavy clipping at the end of the straights still.

Was just about to post that... In the cooldown room, both Max and Lewis made comments about clipping and power running out.

Should just shut the whole series down.

Indy staying with the v6 and more hybrid power next engine formula as well. Guessing Max won't be running there either.

They just aren't allowed to deploy potential power they have stored.

F1 fixed the clipping by doing the same.

It does seem to be less of an issue with Indy. The push to pass is a good concept, especially since you can use it at any time. You only have so much per race.

I think the Indy 500 is different though

Indy is also well into their regulations whilrnF1 is in the first year

Indy is so underpowered with heavy arse cars no one notices. The lap times and deltas aren't as important because drafting on speedways is all that matters. Being in 4th instead of 1st means more on the 2nd to last lap.

An Indy car is a race car so yeah it is fast. They are about the same as an F2 car these days.

F2 racing is pretty good. I’ve enjoyed watching it this year

I have never seen a F2 car go 240 mph. Do they go 175 on road courses?

I don't think F2 runs ovals to get to 240mph.

They can get over 200 mph though. Pretty formidable cars. Mostly a spec series like Indy. Forces a lot of similar cars.
