That Dex imaging Lambo looks nice.

Hopefully the sister GTP caddy looks the same.

New livery for the Pratt Miller Corvettes (which will win GTD Pro, IMO). Looks similar to last year.

Wayne Taylor Lamborghini 45 GTD car's chrome livery has been released. Pretty sharp.

Speaking of Kirkwood, he will be pulling double duty at the upcoming Rolex 24 for Vasser Sullivan, driving both the #14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus GTD Pro and the #12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus GTD.

The Corvettes (TF Sport) did really well at Bahrain a couple months ago. P2 and P3 in the LMGT3 category. It was a lot of fun watching them race the Ferrari.

Where are the best seats to see the most action? I know turn 1 is famous (as it usually is at every circuit)

Walk to the very end of the grandstands. Almost to the turn one tunnel.

You'll take the last set of escalators up and walk to the end.

You'll have to get there early to get a good seat in that area. Last year it was very crowded. Sit on the second level.

Pro tip take a sleeping bag. Even if it says 60° outside with the wind from the track and the airport it'll feel like 45° or below.

I've been reading people talk quite a lot that DIS might go to ticket master instead of doing it themselves. If that's the case, I'll have to just accept that I've lost my turn 4 parking pass. I fear, I'll be too late in the picking after all of the rounds of promo early buy, master card/american Express club people get their tickets.

Sebring went to Ticketmaster. I stupidly forgot to renew the tent camping pass I had In 2019 for the Rolex. Now you have to bug your ticket person to even get on the list and move up.

My brother's GF has a 2024 Lexus so, I'll see what's needed to get a Lexus carral ticket for next year.

As crowded as it's been where I sit. I may get there two hours early to the grandstands to hold my spot down. Most of the casuals bail before the fireworks show. Sucks for them because the best part is watching the sun rise.

Race track naps and seeing the sun rise, can't beat it.

Anyone here ever been to Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta? That's not too far from where I live and I like the aspect of being able to drive home on a Sunday.

Yes I've been, Ive gone twice. Both times I sat at the bottom of the esses. For road Atlanta you need to use a long range whip on your scanner. The whip should be tuned for the 400mhz frequency.

In '23 I accidentally got my little antenna I use for Daytona stuck on the BNC connector and didn't have pliers with me. I couldn't even pickup the fm broadcast with the little thing.

Like I've said for Daytona you want to use this Daytona antenna

The larger whips for handheld scanners gets over powered at Daytona.

Tried all of the squelch /attn, settings and was getting major interference and couldn't properly keep it on one channel without getting random interference.

I use a uniden BCD436HP. It's better at picking up analog signals than the uniden sds100. Plus the 436hp can pickup digital signals should IMSA ever switch to digital for in car communication.

Best thing to do if you have one is to look at the previous years petite frequencies and go ahead and program those before you head to Daytona. You'll only have to program another 10-15 ish more at Daytona as lots of teams keep the same frequency from year to year. So you'll just be adding the new teams and renaming channels if someone else is using that frequently.

Coming into the 2025 season, there are still some serious Indycar contenders who have never won on an oval. The most prominent of these is three-time champion Alex Palou. Scotty Mac and Herta got the oval monkey off of their back last year. Palou has to do it this year, right? He'll have his chances, as follows:
May 25 - Indy 500 (superspeedway)
June 15 - Worldwide Technology Raceway (standard)
July 12 - Iowa race 1 (short oval)
July 13 - Iowa race 2 (short oval)
August 24 - Milwaukee (standard)
August 31 - Nashville (superspeedway)

Other notable non-oval winners:
- Kyle Kirkwood
- David Malukas
- Christian Lundgaard
- Santino Ferrucci
- Conor Daly
- Felix Rosenqvist

What's the difference between "standard" and "short oval"?

The Aston Martin Valkyrie GTP will be making its debut at Sebring in March.

Already saw it, heard it, and babysat it when AM tested the car at SIR late last year. Beautiful car, normally aspirated V12.

Very nice!

For this trip, I figured out what dates this year’s race would be held while watching last year’s race, and booked a vrbo for really cheap about a mile from the track, so we’ll have a spot to easily go back and forth to during the night.

Back in the 90's, you could book a hotel on the beach for $45 a night. Also, you could drive your truck/car into the track and drive to any corner and park facing the track and watch the race from the comfort of your vehicle.

Then the word got out and those days are long gone.

I always thought:
less than 1 mile = short track
1 - 2 miles = regular/standard/intermediate oval
2+ miles = superspeedway
