Was thinking same. Slow rallies but serves look normal. Has to be some shitty Dunlop balls if I had to guess.

I gotta stop fading Wu. Really thought Mannarino's junk ball flat game would trouble him.

I actually laid off him for that reason, and the weirdness of the balls, but apparently he doesn’t mind.

I’m sure you are already aware, but for the more casual folks, this French guy Fils (no relation to Monf) looks like the truth at age 18.

Wolf favored over Isner is a little surprising. He’s been hitting a nasty hard slice serve that no one can seem to handle.

Wu is a no-brainer bet for me. He’ll prob lose a tight one, so I’ll have more on the spread than ML.

You called it. Wu is playing a tight one.

Not sure he deserved the win with Fritz being 0/9 on BP but luckily I get to keep the money.

Isner with 30 aces in 2 sets. This has to be a record.

ETA: He’s at 32 now and it’s going to the 3rd. Ivo’s best-of-3 record of 44 is in danger.

ETA2: lol 44 aces in a loss

Isner has now won 500 tiebreaks. I won a g on the Chiefs and then another g in office squares to dig myself out of an early hole this year. So, I am in on betting dirty 250s with you degenerates.

1 short of the record according to Wiki. That last TB was intense. 0 mini-breaks until the 23rd point, and then Isner saves MP with a break of his own the next point.

Looking forward to this week with Shelton and Alcaraz back in action.

Shelton just lost in straights to Giron with only 4 aces and no break chances.

Thiem wins his first clay match of 2023. Alcaraz plays Djere tomorrow.

I was browsing a Talk Tennis thread on Delray Beach and somebody said:

Next up for Giron is the 33 year old financial advisor ranked #786 that Sock somehow managed to lose to. That has to be the worst loss of Sock's career.

Also sounds like Shelton was spraying it around out there like Shapo. Hopefully, he can get some good coaching to hone his game.

Rafa is out of Dubai. I just figured he wouldn't play until Monte Carlo. But, the Vegas exho is probably big money and I think he likes Indian Wells, so will probably try to give it a go.

I'm just in a mindset right now that if a match is a coin flip to me, I'm going with plus money. I felt like Grigor and De Minaur were the better movers today.

I will be on Sinner tomorrow against Shitsy. I was going to ask about court speed, thinking Shitsy would like a quick court. But while that is probably true about his serve, he has long, loopy strokes and is not a great returner himself. So, even if the court is fast (which I'm not sure is the case), I wouldn't say it's a huge advantage for him.

Based on CPI and TennisAbstract's speed ratings (both of which are old), Rotterdam plays in the medium-slow range. But the finalists in recent years seem to be mostly guys who prefer faster surfaces. They use Tecnifibre balls, which I didn't even know existed.

2022: Felix > Shitsy
2021: Rublev > fricksticks
2020: Monfils > Felix

Thiem and Zverev seem to hate it too. And Roger has won it 3 times. Of course it helps when Rafa and Joker never play there.

For whatever reason, Felix loves it there. I think he just likes indoor tennis in general.

Good lord I totally missed this run he had in late 2022. All indoor fwiw.

I think I'm talking myself into a play or two here. Seeing Medvedev favored to win Q3 and Felix at +175 and that doesn't feel right to me, especially with Med facing Zandschulp and Felix playing Barrere. And Daniil's results there are pretty mediocre.

Felix +850 at FD is better than the +650 I'm seeing elsewhere. The 4th quarter is weak too so he should make the final if he beats Med.

This is absurd to me, especially in Holland.

Daniil Medvedev -800
Botic Van De Zandschulp +540
