Great match. I think Tsitsi had a set and a half when he didn't miss a first serve. Good to see Thiem playing like that.

Those Thiem French Open odds just keep dipping.

It’s funny how little effort goes into tennis futures. Some of the dudes in the 25/1 to 50/1 range have no chance of sniffing a French title but then they leave Thiem at 50/1 or better forever.

Good chance we see an LSU alum on both sides of the Madrid Doubles Final.
Koolhof/Skupski on one side. They're the 1-seeded duo and are the #1 team in the world and the favorites.
Murray/Venus on the other side. Will likely get a Walkover over Rublev/Khachanov into the semis. Then will get Arevalo/Rojer (1-0 record against) or FAA/Shapo (good doubles teams usually beat better singles player teams).
Fritz continues his solid run on clay. Still not getting enough respect there. Currently +8500 on FD to win the French, behind a bunch a scrubs with no chance. Fritz is 7-2 on clay this year with losses to Botic VDZ and Rublev. Wins over Stan Wawrinka, Lehecka, Tsitsipas, and Thiem.
eta: Koolhof/Skupski couldn't get it done.
eta2: Jinxed them both. Venus team loses to Rublev/Khachanov.

Scrubs may be a little bit of a hyperbole. But yeah, that price is definitely a Fritz sucks on clay narrative and not a Fritz is a Top 10 player point of view.
Though I guess at a Slam, Fritz's fitness will come into question.

Another day, another match where a solid player's best can't match Alcaraz.

Whoa, I thought KK was cruising to the second set. In fact, I was starting to get upset I didn't take the +700 or whatever it was to win the match.
Carlitos beat down Zverev yesterday. The Fritz loss was disappointing, but it was an absolute war. Rublev and Rune were tired from playing too much. I could see Alcaraz back out of Rome. It will be very interesting to see what Nadal and Djokovic do in Italy.

Coric +1000 in the semis lol

Struff takes out Tsitsi. I was surprised he had to qualify as a LL, I thought he has been posting good results lately.

Yeah he made the Monte Carlo QF but I guess it wasn’t enough.
Karatsev vs. Struff SF is a rematch from qualies lol

Apparently, Rafa is not playing Rome.
The First game of Alcaraz/Coric was about 12 minutes and then the fourth game about 11 minutes. I ain't got time for 3 out of 5 anymore.

You have to wonder if he'll even play Roland Garros at this point.
There is still a couple of 250 events the week before the French on clay that he could use as tune ups against some easier opponents if he wanted. I don't know if he would want to go to the French and play with no prior matches under this belt.

Carlos wins Madrid. Sabalenka beat Swiatek, they perhaps have a good rivalry growing.
Sock seems to have moved to the pickleball circuit.

Women's Draw is out for Rome if it means anything. I would expect another Swiatek/Sabalenka final.
Men's draw should be out in the morning I guess.
