Trucks and Xfinity cars will be faster than the Cup cars. Oof.

I realize the slow speeds are by design. New car, not many backups, safety rumors, done out abundance of caution, blah blah blah. We’ll see how it races, but Jesus I hope they open these things up as the new car ages.

I think 200-210 with some aspect of handling at Daytona and Talladega would be more interesting. Again, we’ll see how it races, but they’re just cruising.

Qualifying means little to nothing. But Bowman always seems to be out front for this race.

6 Chevy’s, 2 Fords, and 2 Toyota’s finish in the top 10 in the first round.

I have an odd observation that really has no effect on anything whatsoever…. What’s up with some of these fire suits? Some of these idiots look like total clowns in fire suits that are a size too small.

If they actually had to worry about making the cars handle they wouldn't have the big packs Nascar brass loves.

Those 60's cars running the same laptimes. or much faster depending on year, as these new ones actually had to lift in the corners due to lack of grip.

Chevy’s faster in the single car runs. Ford’s were faster in practice with the draft. It will be interesting to see the adjustments made tomorrow night.

Hell, I can remember Earnhardt having smoke coming off his right rear at Daytona back when they ran bias plies.

Loose is fast and on the edge of control.

It's interesting watching old races at Daytona and seeing them slide up in the corners. They had to actually drive them.

Tonight, and they have said this for years, a driver straight out said the driver doesn't have anything to do with how fast the car is. It's all the engineers and the guys working on the cars. The driver is just along for the ride.

Zero chance of this happening in qualifying today;

Duel time. One eye on the races, the other on the weather.

I thought Smoke was calling the Daytona 500? If he is, I wonder why he’s not doing the duels?
