With the Busch Clash being this coming weekend, I figured it was time for the new thread.

Yeah, I'm not expecting it to produce exciting racing, either.

I'm willing to give it a chance before passing judgement

They didn't literally pave the stadium, it's on a huge stage basically. Notice when they show the track how much of the bottom section is gone to accommodate it.

How exactly are we handicapping the Clash? And are they driving the newer or older generation cars?

This idea is almost as bad as Bristol on dirt.

I was wondering why they were testing the new cars at Bowman Gray before I heard about this abortion at the Coliseum.

I’ve been going to Bowman Gray my whole life and enjoy it and the history is cool, but there are many many times I think…1/4 mile flat track is too small to race the modifieds. Cup cars and modifieds are comparable in power so it’ll be interesting depending on how many cars they put on the track at the same time.

That pavement will give way before halfway. They’ll be dodging chunks of asphalt.

I think it’s absolutely nuts they even figured out how to build a track that could feasibly work in the coliseum let alone the idea of seeing a race there. It’s got amazing train wreck potential not to mention there’s no way they’ll practice enough for the drivers to get much experience on it

I’ll definitely be watching to see what happens, I like a lot of the ideas for the new car to we will see if it delivers

Gonna take some getting used to seeing Keselowski in that paint scheme on track right now. Looks like a Rick Ware car.
