I believe Williams have been running their race sims in FP2 this year. They tend to be further down at least.

Mags seems to be burning up his hards. Ran them FP1 as well.
Interesting lineup in the top ten.
eta-Bottas grenaded his PU.

It would so cool if Merc actually did make it a three team kerfuffle for the remainder of the season

A couple of different drivers commented on the tires falling off quicker than expected. Surprising since this track probably has the most data.
The RBR v Aston storyline is going to be great. Green cans, Aston saying they've had this design since November, Marko yelling at clouds, former RBR designer couldn't even participate untip April or so.

Have to think that is an older one. Hopefully not the new-in-Miami one.

They have a ways to go still. The porpoising is greatly improved, in the onboards you can still hear it, but hard to see.
We'll see now if there is any truth to them sandbagging engine modes since they couldn't use the extra power until the bouncing was fixed.

LeClerc was saying his tires on the race sim run were just coming apart. Not a good sign.
The teams keeping a supply of the hards for the race might come out ahead. I've noticed Haas has had Mag on hards and Schu on mediums.
eta-My comment about Mags burning up his hards was meant as he's using up his supply. Haven't heard if he has any degradation issues with them.

Pirelli sucks. It will make for a worse race because everyone will go for the same boring hard strategy.

Medium tyres average lap times (longrun) according to Sky Germany:
Max 12 laps = 26.0
Charles 11 laps = 26.68
Lewis 7 laps = 26.5
George 8 laps = 26.6 #SpanishGP #FP2

Is Merc back? Could be an interesting weekend.

First time all season that everyone from Merc sounded upbeat in their post session interviews.

Just back from the track. First time at a F1 race and I must say that I was incredibly surprised at how fast those cars are. Just like Augusta National, tv does it no justice.
Got to do a lap around the circuit in the back of a flatbed truck (took 10 minutes) and then do a pit walk and see the cars. I sent the pics to VA Buckeye, so if he wants to post them, go right ahead, brother.
F2 cars were awesome as well. The speed and acceleration on both of these machines is unbelievable. Question for the more seasoned fans. When the cars come out of the pit, more than half stopped at the end of pit row, revved their engines, and then hauled arse. Anybody know why?
If my wife doesn't go tomorrow, VA Buckeye will have to abandon his wife if he wants to do the circuit and pit walk with me, as I only have 1 extra pass.
Has anyone here ever felt like a turd in a punch bowl? I did today in the Paddock Club. Europeans aren't scared to wear some bling and have trophy wives. This Mississippi boy did not fit in but I don't give a frick. Had a blast and will the next two days.
Happy to answer any questions. I hope I survive the next two days with free booze and food.
Sorry, TLDR.

Practice starts.

I thought that also at first but the last thing they did before going to the garage was practice starting from the grid.
Posted on 5/20/22 at 1:44 pm to Mr. Blutarski
Yep. One practice start on the grid after each practice session. Unlimited at a spot designated, usually right side at the pit lane exit.
The have the exact spot spelled out in directors notes.
Also on Sunday you will see the cars exit, maybe do a practice start, then do a go around through the pits and maybe try a couple times to get their clutch setting correct.
Looks like you have a full compliment of races this weekend, F2, F3, W Series. Lots of racing to see.

You're right. Tomorrow and Sunday are going to be awesome. Can't wait. VA Buckeye and his wife are coming to meet me for drinks in a bit.
