IIRC Lewis is the heaviest of the current drivers @ about 160 pounds.

Surprising. Russell is a lot taller but he is pretty slight.

Mick looks bigger but have never noticed a pic of them to compare.

eta-Gasly's trainer looks like Willem Dafoe...

Looked it up and of course the driver's weights and heights are online.

I figured Bottas would be heavier. Before the weight limits he talked about almost blacking out while racing because he had to be so light.

JPM was the biggest chunk I can remember in "modern" F1. The dude looked so out of place in a race suit. His silhouette in a fire suit reminded me of every second redneck at a test and tune night. Most of the other half had the rail skinny meth look.

Tony Stewart?

He probably couldn't get in an Indycar today. Hell, the past ten years.

It is just so silly.

For the same money they could have built a lot nicer temporary viewing cabanas that would be a lot more comfortable than being on a boat. Being in the harbor in Monaco is one thing, you stay on the boat and can go out onto the ocean in the evening and avoid traffic etc but another to just be sitting in "boat" seats for a race. It is like saying to my wife "honey lets go out and sit in the boat while it sits in the lift".

The gimmicks are incoming. Not so much this type thing; but it is representative of a larger problem to come. Liberty is going to want to keep increasing their profits.

Have a feeling we'll be seeing more "destination" races where they are concerned more about the spectacle than anything. Traditional tracks will disappear from the schedule.

And they will all be "street" races.

How F1 constructors were in the 1970's/80's.

Tyrell's shop article with pics

Today's F1 is frankly obscene with the spending. Check out McLaren's shop with the glass elevators and skywalks.
