These balls are such garbage. It's like pounding whiffle balls back and forth waiting for someone to make a mistake.

Sinner will be number 1 in the world in the next 3-5 years.

Member when MV used to have cable and thus had tennis channel and could evaluate players based on his own observations?

So, on the real real, who wants to give me the 411 on this skinner kid? He's obviously legit; what's his game like?

Has an italian player ever been 1 in the world?

I could look this up.

Think I've heard this about 15 guys in the last few years and none have come close.

6'2 but plays longer. Rangy. Hits flat off both wings. Really good angles with the forehand. Has some similarities to Novak defensively.

He appears to be hurt right now so this might be a bagel.

yea, he's hurt or it's just that dejected look I've seen on 100 different guys when you've thrown everything you have a rafa and your best just isn't good enough.

Yeah the way he played that first point in the 4th game makes me think it's more likely that.

I used to have that. It was actually a friend who gave me the login of his other friend. I think she moved or something, and he never got her new one, or if he did, he hasn't told me.

At least for 5 or 6. :)

Some of them will eventually happen.

I think we're past the "black ages era" of Kei and Grigs and dogshit Milos. A few of these youngsters actually have some game.*

*though the fact that Thiem, for example, still gets referred to as one of the young players is insane. People forget dude is 27.

I may have overlooked it, or just forgot. Just got it working, but by that time the match was over. But hopefully I can put this to good use at a later date.

Sad face though it giveth the MV to say this, I don't think TGGRN is going to win this tournament.

Yeah that was my thought during the first set, and it got even stronger watching Sinner go up 3-1 in the 2nd. He just doesn't have the ability to flatten out his shots and hit winners in these conditions. I think his best chance is to go old-school Rafa and lock down and play defense, but I don't know if his body can handle that.

I was kicking myself for not getting Sinner +9.5, especially when I saw he was up 3-1 in the second. I know it hit, but that final scoreline shows you how quickly it can unravel.

Diego +8 is actually around -130 right now. It feels ridiculously square to play that, but I just don't think there's another level for Rafa to raise his game, which would be required to cover a number like that.
