some officials can and will still give them in october if it is still pretty hot/humid - especially for schools with less depth / lots of two way players. You save time with less cramp injury time outs.

St Aug keeps shooting themselves in the foot.. They had every opportunity to win that game and blew it because of pre snap penalties..

They had it first and 10 from the Curtis 11 and was flagged for a false start. Didn’t do anything and missed a field goal.

St Aug coaching is terrible...
after watching st aug pretty much run roughshod through the 70s in 79 if someone would have told me that in 2019 they would be 40 years without even a title game appearance -wouldn't have bought that mule with government money... not only was it coaching change, but the time that some of st aug's base started going to other catholic schools as well.

does St. Thomas More jump up to #3 in overall rankings with the Neville win and the Karr loss?

Also, was the Karr win enough to vault Catholic High over Curtis?

It was crazy when Rummel beat them in the semi's in '13...

Leonard Fournette played like 12 positions that night. I think he even punted...

1987 kinda got some rough breaks in q final loss at covington.

93 semi loss to WM is inexplicable game turned when aug receiving team on KO treated loose ball like a punt - wm recovered.

95 semi loss to Neville - special teams again cost them.

2000 semifinal loss to WM they did give WM one of their closest games all year but weren't as talented.

2009 again gave WM a close game but.....

really only time they were a real threat on a statewide basis since 2000 was fournette's sr year.

Consistently out coached in the catholic league

Take last night for example. Gugenheim the Curtis QB is only a marginal athlete. I didn’t even watch the game but to see he had 12 carries for 200 yards, I can tell you Aug had no clue to to defend the veer. Completed 1-3 passes for a handful of yards lol.

The best Aug team I’ve seen was 2000. They had about 11 D-1 guys. But no one to kick a FG.

Lester being out coached on a statewide level as well....

2000 was never in the game they lost to WM but nobody else got as close as aug 17-

One thing that has hurt them is a lack of coaching resources at the sub varsity level compared to teams that vie for state titles

that hasn't seemed to hurt the likes of Karr and Warren Easton and Landry Walker... Now granted they didn't have to go through the Catholic League but that effect is overstated for late November playing teams bc the playoffs are a grind for everyone

. That “grind” prepares you more for playoffs than a weaker district

Karr and LW have more resources at that level and continuity with feeder programs

I don’t see why you’re so upset because you’re wrong. The kid is about to be 16. Why is that so hard to believe. His little brother is about to be 13.

Don’t know why no one believes you. You are correct about Arch. He’s 15. But Heid is older than you have him. He’s already 13, turning 14 soon.

Did you happen to notice his two weapons that are ineligible this year hanging on the sideline?

Yes, one freshman and one sophomore. Newman is recruiting hard and the chance to play with Arch is helping.

93 was better than 2000 imo. They were massive and elite athletes everywhere.
