Pulling for Ryan Hunter Ray today. Going to be exciting to watch these drivers adjust to a scorching hot track

Not a lot of passing so far. Looks like it'll be a race where attrition and strategy win the day.

Big NASCAR fan. First time watching Indy. I noticed this obviously. NASCAR gets a lot of grief for single file racing, but these guys are really strung out.

Fun watching it so far.

Glad to see Eddie Cheever is still on the broadcast. I've been a fan since his F1 days.

I think it has more to do with the new car this year. Plus the heat is also affecting performance too I would imagine. The last few 500s did have a lot of great passing.

He and Scott Goodyear are having their swan song.

NBC takes over next year. Their broadcast crew is waaaay better than ABC.

I hope we won't have to suffer through Danica providing commentary.

End of an era. ABC has had Indy since I can remember, and I remember watching the race Sunday night on tape delay.

Terrible luck for TK. Looked like the only car that was able to challenge Carpenter.

Sucks for TK but there’s a lot of race left. JPM and Rossi both won from the back in recent memory.

I have a feeling it’s Power’s year though.

The fuel man seemed awfully calm for being in a pool of flames while holding a fuel hose.

This is ABC’s last broadcast of the Indy 500 before NBC takes over next season. No doubt that this time next year we will be complaining about the number of commercials NBC runs.

I think NBC is going to turn their 500 broadcast into the Kentucky Derby 2.0. Should be interesting.

That means they’ll probably find a way to feature Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski in it.

Commenters at Robin Millers mailbag at Racer.com much prefer the NBC race coverage.
