The Cleveland Browns are staring 0-16 right in the face, BUT could something be brewing in Cleveland? Lets take a quick glimpse of the upcoming offseason FA and draft. The Browns will have anywhere from $118-127 Million in cap space...that's unreal! The Browns have 5 of the first 60 picks in the upcoming draft. If...and that's a big if, the Browns don't mess this up, they could make drastic improvements. Now the question begs...which direction do you go? Spend big in FA on offense or defense? Or vice versa? The Browns have plenty of $$$, Draft picks and options. What would you do?

They might have to overpay 2nd tier FAs. Getting 1st tier guys would be surprising even with overpaying. Just build through the draft and save the money until you look promising then spend big.

They'll draft Darnold or Rosen first overall. Then go D from there on out.

Fitzpatrick/Chubb/Key at 6.

True...however, there wasn't nearly the amount of high profile FA in their primes in the past. The Browns could very easily sign both Kirk Cousins and Leveon Bell to HUGE paydays and not hurt their salary cap. Then they have 5 of the first 60 picks in the draft. Not saying the wont frick this up, but the Browns have options. Again, what would you do???

Exactly.
Nobody wants to go to Cleveland. 2nd tier guys will go for 1st tier money but thats about it.

The kind of personnel that type of money will attract are low-character guys who who will take their payday and check out.

They'd be better served keeping half that money and take lower tier guys who never got a chance.

Cleveland is going to have to pay a premium for FA vs other teams.

The team and city are both terrible in comparison to other franchises.

If I was a high profile QB, I'd consider going back to school if the Browns get the first pick.

Browns drafted Jabrill Peppers in the first round. They deserve 0-16

Leveon Bell

Can't Pittsburgh Franchise him again? Not saying it will happen, but I wouldn't be shocked for a one year rental if they pay him that if it's Big Ben's last hurrah.

Their line doesn't seem to be that bad, I was just reading an article about how they are wanting to move on from Kizer after just 1 year and that was largely because he's been given a solid OL and time in the pocket but he has still looked terrible and made too many mistakes.

Him holding onto the ball for far too long really isn't on the OL.

Here is what I would do;

Sign Kirk Cousin for 30 mill per year
Sign Leveon Bell for 20 mill per year

Draft #1 DB Minkah Fitzpatrick
Draft #5 DE Bradley Chubb...Chubb on one side, former #1 Myles Garret on the other
Draft #33 Top OL
Draft #39 Top WR
Draft #60 QB Josh Allen (let him learn behind Cousins)

The Browns have the money to overpay for ANY free agent they want. The Browns are actually in a pretty legit situation.

Browns fricked:

quote:

Jeff Fisher wants to get back into the NFL next year, could be eyeing three jobs if they open: Cleveland, Indy and Chicago. Fisher buyout from the Rams was $16M.

He would be such a Halsam move.

So we will be able to break out the Fish chart again! God Bless!

8-8 would be a great improvement for the Browns

The kind of people they need don't want to play in Cleveland. They'll take less money to pay for a championship.

They'll get a Haynesworth, whose only goal is to get a record-setting contract and then get fat.
