This upcoming period has a weird feeling of finality about it.
Sure, this was a rivalry on and off in the '90s and then was pretty heated in the early 2000s. And it will still be a rivalry afterwards.
However, this particular chapter of the rivalry is focused upon Crosby and Ovechkin, and the casts that have come and gone and been built around them.
This is it for the Capitals. Either they're finally going to get over the hump, or they never will. This group will have never done it.
