No, but going to hit 59 by end of week. It was -6 here this morning. It usually doesn’t get that cold here in winter. We avoided the worst of the storm my folks got. We didn’t get any ice here.

I saw even FL got snow the other day. That must happen once every 2-3 decades. It never got that cold here last year. Didn’t even get much snow.

We complain about the cold, but this is some good outdoor hockey weather. We used to play hockey on a frozen pond at our house with a cardboard box and a smashed can.

Anaheim is throttling Pitt.

Outdoor hockey sounds fun.

How was Las Vegas able to have an outdoor exhibition game in September a long time ago?

Heat isn't that big of a deal, and it cools off alot after dark. Humidity is much more difficult to deal with. Phoenix needs to get a game although both locations for it, Chase Field and UOP Stadium are both retractable roof stadiums.

I would love to see in person how the ice is prepared before a game. It’s fascinating how seamlessly the ice and rank is laid out before a game. I get tired of seeing the same old teams get outdoor games. Give Stars, Predators, Canucks, Blue Jackets an outdoor game. Blackhawks have been in probably 5 classics already. Could Sun Devil Stadium be used for a game?

Agreed. Really need some new teams for outdoor games.

This game on nbcsn is pretty exciting. 4-3 ducks late in 3rd. Pitt with two goals in the 3rd

The NHL has come close to killing the goose when it comes to the Winter Classic by giving us the same teams over and over again. I loved the outdoor game between the Ducks and Kings last year. Totally different vibe. And there's been some cool outdoor games in Canada.

But I think for the Winter Classic, they need to think more about venue. Play in cool iconic stadiums if you can, like when they played at the Big House or Fenway. Have Columbus host at Ohio St. Have Nashville host at Bristol Speedway. Or have the Canucks go down to Seattle. Something.

kid rock is performing at the NHL allstar game and a certain segment of our population who is "with her" is very upset about it

Minorities, people of color and women already feel like the NHL doesn't gaf about them. Having Kid Rock as the All-Star game entertainment just underlies that point.

— Hemal Jhaveri (@hemjhaveri) January 17, 2018

I've never seen @NHL fans more united than they are right now in hating the announcement that Kid Rock is playing the #NHLAllStar game.

— Alisha Grauso (@AlishaGrauso) January 17, 2018

The NHL looked at how much attention that college football got for having trendy, young, peak-popularity artist in Kendrick Lamar play the halftime show. So they decided to get…

*squints eyes*

Kid Rock. huh

And they say we’re supposed to keep politics out of hockey smh LINK
