Lions cruise tonight 99-67, though it was only over Centenary.

And yeah I don’t expect much out of basketball, but the hardcore SLU athletic supporters surprisingly are big on basketball. Ladner has/had a lot of rope to establish his program here how he wants it, and I think this may be the year he finally gets it all together, if the team can stay healthy. Veal is really, really exciting to watch. I like how Capps plays, and I’m anxious to see how Polanco does (18/5/2 tonight).

Louisiana Tech had to go to overtime, but they held on to beat SEMO 96-95. The Bulldogs were led by Jalen Harris who had 26 points. Daquan Bracey also scored 20 points in the game. LA Tech is now 2-0.

UNO stayed on the road and fell to Oakland 68-87. The Privateers got a 20 point effort from Travin Thibodeaux and 18 points from Makur Puou but it wasn't enought. UNO is now 0-2.

Last night wasn't a good one as both schools in action suffered losses.

Northwestern State had a rough night as they lost 35-81 to SMU. They were led by Iziahiah Sweeney who had 9 points as no Demon player reached double figure scoring. Northwestern State drops to 0-3 this season.

Southern lost to Missouri State 58-86. The Jags leading scorer was Brendon Ganaway who scored 11 points off the bench. Southern is now 0-3 on the season.

There are three games tonight involving state schools, including one in state matchup.

LSU hosts Samford at 7pm in a game you can watch on SECN+ (WastchESPN).

Southeastern heads up to Monroe to face ULM at 7pm.

Grambling heads north to face Iowa at 7pm tonight.

Not a bad night of basketball as in state teams went 2-2.

LSU took care of business against Samford winning 105-86. Tigers got 20 point efforts out of Skyler Mays and Brandon Sampson, who also had 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Tigers in all reached double digits in scoring. LSU is now 2-0 this season.

ULM defeated Southeastern in Monroe by a score of 86-75. Warhawks got 19 point outings from both Travis Munnings and Marvin Jean-Pierre. The Lions got 23 points off the bench from Eddy Polanco and 15 point, 10 rebound effort from Keith Charleston but it wasn't enough. ULM is now 1-2 this season and SLU is 1-2 as well.

Grambling lost at Iowa 74-85. The Tigers had a respectable road effort against a Power 5 school. They got 21 points from Axel Mpoyo to lead all scorers for the Tigers. Grambling is now 0-2 this year.

Lots of teams in action today/tonight.

Tulane faces Colorado State in Jamaica at 1pm (CBSSN).

ULL hosts Savannah State at 4pm.

Nicholls welcomes Springhill at 7pm.

Northwestern State hosts Rice at 6:30pm.

McNeese heads to the west coast to face San Diego State at 9:30pm.

And Southern heads to Cameron Indoor to face the #1 team in the land at 6:00pm (ACCN, believe it is available on WatchESPN).

There is a stream for every home game this year, at least I'm told.
