Lakers need to amnesty Kobe.

Why? His salary isnt preventing the Lakers from having cap space to sign players. The Lakers have a ton of cap space even with Kobe's ridiculous contract. No one is coming due to the fricked up front office and Byron Scott as the head coach.

The Lakers have way more serious problems to deal with than Kobe's contract number

Im interested to see what Mitch is sending back to Indiana. I like adding Hibbert in a contract year

Isn't that the day when FA deals are official?

July 8th iirc. I don't understand what would hold this trade up if it's essentially just a salary dump

Man I can't wait until the season starts.

Hibbert is as much a mental midget as Kwame Brown was.

LAKERS, PACERS AGREE TO HIBBERT DEAL

The Lakers have agreed to take Roy Hibbert, league sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne. The framework of the trade is still being discussed. Sources said the deal will be completed by July 9 when the league-wide moratorium is lifted.

Ah, ok. I wonder if LA is trying to unload Swaggy P in this deal?

I like this move. Hibbert is still a good rim protector and a change of scenery in a contract year could provide some motivation. I think the Lakers still will have around 8 or 9 million left in cap space after this.

Hibbert next to Julius Randle is nice!! But how will Hibberts play mesh with D'Angelo Russel's?!

We won't need him to score, he just needs to anchor our defense. My first thought is that I like this trade because it will free us of some salary for next summer and he's better than any big man option that's left. Need to see the pieces though that we'll be sending to indy

That would be ideal. I would assume this means there's zero chance that Boozer will be brought back
