how am I contradicting myself? I never said overall he wasn't a great QB. Even the best QB's have bad games. I'm just seeing how many excuses you make for the Saints losing to the 49ers rather than just admitting that the better team won the game.

turning the ball over loses football games, we turned the ball over 5x so we lost the game. I don't think anyone believes that San Fran was the more talented team. They were better that day because they protected the ball.

We were the first road team to be a favorite in that round in 20 years.

so they were unforced turnovers?

Did the refs just come up to the Saints and say, look...you need to just give them the ball or we will throw penalty flags the rest of the game. didn't think so either. the 49ers forced the turnovers because their team was better than the Saints that game.

Easier schedule and a complete coaching staff and players

OH SKIPPIE! You were favored in a road game, well excuse me sir...here's your victory. Just tell your players to not worry about showing up.

2 of them? Yes. We dropped a kickoff and kicked it forward.

who has said otherwise. The team that protects the ball wins the game. That being said, it still took a defensive meltdown at the end to lose it

How has my reading comprehension failed this time teacher? You plainly stated that the Saints were the first road team to be favored in that round. Clearly, your train of thought while typing that was that y'all were favored so you should have won.

we aren't gonna have many problems with the player suspensions...the vilma issue has already been addressed. there was a lot of speculation that he would be cut even before the bounty stuff..

you have a complete, mediocre coaching staff, and we have better players...still think we have the inside track

my train of thought was that we were the more talented team, and we should have won that game. I stated the reasons we lost the game, but you are incapable of a legitimate response to any point a make.

Your reading comprehension failed when you claimed that I believed that the 49ers weren't better in that game. I've never stated that.

his point was that we were believed to be the more talented team by all...it's not that tough

im going to bed. My brain hurts trying to listen to you come up with 1,000 excuses as to why the Saints lost to the 49ers. You keep regurgitating the same useless information, and I am tired of reading it. Enjoy the rest of your night, and we will see who the better team is starting in 102 days.

At least we weren't humiliated in our playoff exit.

you have a complete, mediocre coaching staff,

Your HC is better than ours, but not when he'll be watching your games from his home in Dallas.

Our new DC is better than your new DC.

Your OC is better than our OC.

I call that 1-1-1.

and we have better players...

You have better Indians without any Chiefs.

Maybe, but you also have a lot harder schedule. In track and field terms, you're in the outside lane, while our schedule gives us the inside.

They are just so fricking happy that Peyton is gone. Let them have their fun for now. He is 10-2 against them

so that oh so great QB, wasn't so great huh?

Vs Lions: 33/43, 76.7%, 466yds, 10.8YPA,3TD, 0INT
Vs SF: 40/63, 63.5%, 462yds, 7.3YPA, 4TD, 2INT

And one of those INTs against SF wasn't his fault, Devery Henderson just fell down on a deep pass and the CB had no competition for the ball. This after having one of the best regular seasons ever seen in NFL's history. After Ryan and the Falcons have had their shite pushed in for two consecutive playoff games, I don't think Falcon fans should be ragging on Brees or saying that there's any reason to believe the Falcons will surpass the Saints this season (if ANYONE does it, it will be Carolina if they can fix their rush defense).

Yeah, that game. I think the Saints are a better team overall, but there's no point in arguing, SF beat us last season when it mattered and that's what counts. Fortunately, SF comes to NOLA next season, and they're not in the NFCS.

And the Saints defense has more talent than each of the past two seasons, maybe more than the SB team (Smith and Vilma were solid that year, Sharper was amazing for about 13 games and REALLY fell off for the rest of the season and playoffs) as we have an average (or better) LB corps now after having a historically bad group since 2010. The DLine should be the best we've had in a long time against the run and we still have a talented secondary. Our pass rush will once again be awful, but it's been that way since around 06 when Will Smith and Charles Grant were worth a shite.

Too many people are putting too much stock in the suspensions. Vilma has been awful the past two years and would be iffy to make the team regardless. Smith is going to be an adequate against the run/6 sack type player (OH NOES WE CANT LOSE HIM!!) and had to take a massive paycut this offseason to stick around. He was suspended the first two games last season, when we barely lost in Lambeau and assraped the Bears at home with 5 or 6 sacks. Harper would be a decent loss, but his subtraction along with losing Porter are more than made up with the additions of Bunkley, Hawthorne, and Lofton.

Losing Payton will be significant, but Brees and he were basically of the same mind. Payton installed the offense that has pushed Brees from a QB in SD that was finding his groove to one of the all time best. He's been running the fricking thing for 5 years now. He's not going to go out there and look like Jamarcus Russell out there with Payton gone. Hell, he won't look like Matt Ryan. He'll continue to be a top 3 QB.

fair enough...

but as was said earlier, the Colts made it to the super bowl with their system and Manning and a first year coach...

we will miss Payton, but his team and system is still in place...there will be some hiccups, but they won't keep us from having a very successful season imo. Drew Brees is gonna do his thing again this year barring injury...and the defense can only improve
