They're going to overturn it. He touches while out of bounds.
In the Clemson game earlier today, a fumble occurred that was touched by a guy who was out of bounds and the fumble stood.

I mean that's the rule, but it's stupid. The ball is in bounds.
Posted on 10/15/16 at 7:37 pm to KillerNut9
Wow, I don't like that rule. That ball was out, it shouldn't matter if he touched because he no longer has control of it. JMO.

I thought you had to have some control of a ball if your body was out of bounds to make both out of bounds.
Oh well.
Oh well.

What the frick kind of rule is that?
That's literally ALWAYS been a rule. I don't understand what you're surprised about.
If the ball is contacted by a player who is out of bounds by rule it stays with the last team to have posession.

so just to compare to basketball, for example, that would be out of bounds as well. different sports, obviously, but it's not an unheard of rule or anything

Yeah it is similar. This was pretty clear cut.

ADMINS: Why is this game stickied on the SECRant and not here?

Good call. Get over it. Play defense.

Who said anything about being surprised? It's a rhetorical question, bud.

What a stupid rule.
It happens all the time when the defensive player tries to recover a fumble while OOB.
People just don't seem to grasp that the same rule applies no matter which team is doing the touching.

It's such a dumb rule. It rewards the ball carrier for being careless and lucky. I get if it's a defender touching the ball that is out of bounds. But it provides such a bailout.

Ohio State gameplan is shite. But apparently I'm overreacting.

Dude.
People know the rule. It's just a stupid rule.
