Watched this game earlier today. I’ve had to go deep down the rabbit hole during the quarantine.
Some great names from the past.
UT had a helluva backfield. Ricky Williams as a sophomore. Priest Holmes was quiet this game, before exploding in the Big 12 title game. Shon Mitchell is a forgotten name from the past, and underrated qb James Brown.
A&M was rolling with Sirr Parker (goat name) and Dante Hall. Tennessee transfer Branndon Stewart under center and the heart and soul Dat Nguyen anchoring the defense.
Question: what hell happened to UT standout receiver Mike Adams? Drafted by Pittsburgh, then what?

I was watching an old A&M game from like, 93 and they weren't kidding about A&Ms general philosophy to football under slocum

Were you alive or aware for Sirr Parker? Just one of those increidble CFB moments that was a gut punch to a program (KSU).

I remember watching that live. KSU blew it in the second half. Caught a Hail Mary at the end of the game on the 1. And couldn’t catch Sirr at the end.

The game didn’t innovate quite as fast back then. Slocum was a good coach, just couldn’t get them over that last hump.

This footage is raw and subpar, but still incredible.

I'll see if I can find dave souths call for you, youd appreciate it. They play it before every single game and the crowd yells "he got a touchdown! He got a touchdown! He got a touchdown!" with him

Mackovic was a great offensive recruiter. Problem was his pro system was complicated and he couldn’t get everyone on the same page.
Not to mention motivating the team to not get blown off the field more than once.

Some of my earlier non-lsu football memories are Ricky Williams Texas and Colorado-Nebraska thanksgiving games at my grandmas
