I don't think that kick was "intentional" but I don't think it qualifies as an illegal kick anyway, since it wasn't a loose ball.
Find me some one other than a Michigan or Missouri fan that would say that's an "illegal" kick.

They said at the time - if he did it intentionally - it was illegal.
I've seen it so many times, it seems like it was intentionally kicked to keep the ball alive...I don't remember what Davidson claimed - probably inadvertent.

The way college football is now, no ONE team will have that kind of a dominate run for a long time. Not over the course of 7-14 years like USC and FSU. Bama and Florida have kind of did one over the 3 years
Bama may pull off the next Nebraska, but I doubt it

Miami from 1983-1992 is my favorite.
National Champions in 1983, 1987, 1989, 1991, and a game away in 1985, 1986, 1988, 1990, and 1992.

Michigan is lucky they got a split title,
1997 Nebraska's bowl win is a little overrated based on the fact that Chavis didn't have a damn clue how to stop the option. I'm just glad Tennessee didn't play Kansas State in the National Title game a year later.

Penn State should have gotten the same as Michigan did in 1997.

'94 PSU > '97 Michigan (by a lot) - they deserved at least a share but that year the writers botched it going political based on a ruse by Dr. Tom. '94 Nebraska is also > '97 Nebraska (their recent run and name really carried them in the polls one of the weakest co-champs of the 90's along with Colorado.)
