Can't believe people are falling for this Penn St crap.
Honestly, how many teams in the top ten would penn st be favored againstb on a neutral field?
One, maybe.

And Alabama has done the same and made the playoffs. Just last year it took a miracle for them to win their division or this little act would have played out in 2015.
Buuuuuuuut, it didn't happen. I'd have ZERO problem with an 11-2 (7-1) Ole Miss getting in before Alabama last year. That's how this shite should work.

If things are this close and head to head and divisions and conference titles don't matter AT ALL, then we're fricked. Alabama will make it every single year.

Hell, 9-3 Alabama in 2010 was probably a top 4 football team. Most talented for damn sure. Throw them motherfrickers in.

Does Michigan not have a case to ranked higher than OSU right now?

Nah, you really don't have to try when the committee chair is saying basically the same exact thing a lot of us have been saying for a week.

Care to explain the gap between CU and PSU? How do their résumés compare?
Here's a good basic framework that anyone who debates these things should become familiar with:

School - winning % - opps' w% - opps' opps' w%
tOSU 0.917 0.616 0.584
PSU 0.833 0.549 0.577

Buckeyes get the edge in all this. In plain English, they win more often and play tougher teams than Penn State. If this was a case where Ohio State had the better record but the weaker schedule or the inferior record against the tougher schedule, then it would make more sense to include this conference championship business into the argument, but when every comprehensive number we can come up with favors Ohio State....

Better record, tougher schedule. You'll not find me a single time since 1983 when anything trumped that when it came to these things.

Ummmmm. All of their ranked wins came at home. They have an extra loss to an unranked team. This isn't rocket science.

No. Ohio State has a better record, tougher schedule, and a head-to-head win. I do wonder what the hell would lead someone to think that Michigan could possibly be ranked ahead of Ohio State at this point.

Uhhh, won't that shite be pretty damn close if PSU wins this weekend?

Plus those numbers are close enough(IMO) that head to head should trump them.

Good lord. Enough with this shite. That's how the schedules played out this year. And hell, Alabama played much better on the road than at home in 2014.

And y'all are fricked next year, with those home games ya know?

this committee is a joke

when they have 3 and 4 loss teams ahead of W.Michigan, it becomes laughable.

1 loss, 2 loss, i can see, but 4 loss teams, give me a fricking break.

The Bluebloods will always win out vs the middling p5's and midmajors.

The media and committee suck them off

Well, that's a matter of opinion, of course, but a win over Wisconsin would chip away far less than half the difference at this point.

In other words, data indicate that Bowling Green, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Northwestern, and Nebraska are tougher than Kent State, Pittsburgh, Temple, Minnesota, Purdue, and Iowa, so Ohio State has a better record vs the former group than Penn State has against the latter group, Penn State just doesn't have an argument.

I'm sorry that it's common sense that road games are more difficult.

ETA. Loved how you missed quoting the most important point.

They beat the shite out of 6 7 and 8 all in a row.

I don't acknowledge the head to head vs OSU.

WMU's SOS is #80.

There are two 3-loss teams ranked ahead of WMU and no such 4-loss teams. Auburn's SOS is #7; FSU's is #5. There's no conspiracy here.

The Iowa part?

No biggie. Just a tough loss on the daunted road.

And an extra loss compared to Ohio State. Number of losses are kind of important, nah?
