I guess they waited just long enough so he wouldn’t get this year as qualified service time? shite like this HAS to go in the next CBA.
Not to say that this doesn’t happen, but Vlad Jr. did get hurt in spring training so the service time argument is a little irrelevant.

What about shite like a guy getting $23M to go 0-54?
Pretty sure that corrected itself without a new CBA.

He wasn't going to be on the opening day roster this year - hurt or not - and it has everything to do with service time. Let's not act otherwise.
This is probably what would have happened. There are a ton of obvious studs that started in the minor just for this reason.

Agreed. I'm just checking in to make sure there's the same level of outrage that there was when the same was done with Kris Bryant (and basically every other top prospect).

Whoever runs the Blue Jays Twitter account does a damn strong job.

The hype surrounding this kid is a bit over the top. Dude has a giant standard to reach to be considered successful.
I saw on TV a little while ago that his hitting score on the 20-80 scale is 80. I don't know how often that happens. He about has to be Mike Trout II.
