Looking at the tv schedule, NBC is giving us the finger.

Yeah really. They put everything on Universal Sports. At least put games on Versus or something

my bad, I didn't mean to derail the thread. I was talking about whether I should try to go to the NRL Final while I'm in Sydney.

Swagga, who do you/did you play rugby for?

Where can you watch this? I'm kinda intrigued to watch but it's not listed on bright house tv.

Anybody up and watching? After the Hakka, they turned to the Tonga team and the one player looked like "Damn, that was awesome to see live"

This just looks like the 1st week of college football...Tonga is getting smashed like they are a no name team. I was expecting at least a little bit of a game, not this.

70 min mark. The ref needs to make this a free kick. There has been about 6 collapsed scrums at this point. Just force it to a free kick

Watching 1st match via recording.

HT thoughts:

NZ looks unreal. They're making Tonga look like, well, the US.

Tonga's tackling really poorly, which I did not expect.

NZ's only problems are Carter's kicks from open play.

The disallowed All Black try should not have been disallowed.

Cowen's (sp?) feeds on the Scrum are illegal, but they're not being called.

All Black's 2nd try was a thing of beauty.

Terrible 2nd half for the All Blacks.

Everything they did well in the 1st half, they did poorly in the 2nd, and that starts with McCaw. Horrible match for him. Off on most of the Scrums and 3-4 pens on him.

I'm sad we only got a chance to see Jain work on one action. He's great open field, but the All Blacks didn't have possession the whole 2nd half.

Rest of the field has to be looking at that second half and salivating.

Yep, you gotta wonder if NZ has the ability to win ugly if they need to. They definitely have the flash as always and look great against overmatched opponents. The pool match against France should be a great one.

Just an FYI for those new to rugby:

Northern Hemisphere refs call matches very differently from Southern Hemisphere refs. Northern refs will let people play much more than Southern ones.

I played for Bro Martin, and I play for UNO now when I can. I may join the mens team pretty soon, depending on my work situation. I have alot of friends trying to get on.

ETA: I understood what you were saying, and you didnt derail the thread imo. League is still technically rugby
