As they do the live press conference, you can hear the rain hitting the ground all around them.

This is gonna be a mess.

Its like Aaron said...The US Open is won with ball striking. This year ball striking doesnt mean crap. And its not like they can just make Merion's greens roll 13.

I just saw the 5 second clip of Tiger & Sergio shaking hands on the range. Wonder what the over/under was on words exhange. I'll say 8.

Has all this rain put a damper on your expectations of this championship? I seriously have my doubts about how "exciting" the US Open will be now!

Yea, it won't be much fun to watch if balls aren't running through fairways into rough and they're stopping mid and long irons on the greens. Hopefully the rain will stop soon, and they just pay people to use blowers on the fairways 24/7.

I loved the 20009 championship at Bethpage Black when Glover came out on top. Ricky Barnes was in the lead most of that tournament. Ricky Fricking Barnes baby.

Sorry, but the 2009 US Open is one of the least memorable of the last 15-20 years.

Sergio: "hey how was your vegetable medley last night?"
Tiger: "good"

Sergio: "did you have anything else"
Tiger: "Nope"

Sergio: "OK, see ya"

only way even is a good score is if it dries up during the weekend and Sunday plays exact opposite of any other day.

A pretty good chance of rain is in the forecast thru the 1st round on Thursday.

Well, if it's going to be really wet, maybe someone will go out and best Johnny Miller's 63, so we can quit listening to him tell us he did that. BTW, this is the 40th anniversary of his 63 at Oakmont, so how many times will he mention it on the weekend telecast? I'll set the O/U at 6.5.

He's still gonna talk about it, except now he'll throw in a proverbial, "And the only other round which comes close to _______'s 62 was my round of 63!"

Johnny Miller, oh you are soooo big.
You are so absolutely huge.
We're all really impressed down here, I can tell you.

Johnny may only mention it 6 times. But Dan Hicks will mention it 148 times.
