Just logged into Masters.com and they usually show some kind of video intro before they take you to actual site, and it was a video of Arnie putting, he broke his wrists and used all hands in his putt

Has the basic putting technique changed over the years or was he just different?

Very much so ... Greens never used to be as fast and smooth as they are now. Not even close ..

eta: In fact the old Bermuda greens at augusta were pretty slow and bumpy

Once you buy one your hooked. I have a couple belts also. Only black croc and brown lizard.
