I believe you're on the wrong board.

Oh I thought this thread was about DOGE. The DOGE payment will be more if the Sea Bass don't get their cocaine. Maybe you don't see the connection.

This board is for non-flaming discussion of money, you appear to be trying to make political points.

I personally don't need or want a DOGE check. I would prefer that the projected $2T in savings over 2 years is used at a 50/50 split to help pay off some of the National debt and roll over to the 2026 Federal Budget. The latter would pretty much guarantee a Budget Surplus.

No, it appears that a DOGE check is being considered.
Congress has to include it in a bill and signed by the President. I suspect there will be one, perhaps this year or next year but that's up to Congress, not me. If I were to bet, I think there is a 90% chance there will be one.

I answered your question. What is your opinion?

This was already addressed on page 1, There isn't some credit card payment out there we aren't making. The debt is out there in the form of treasuries, the duration and quantity is set.

Well I think some of the savings are from the appropriating dollars that have already been sent to a bank, similar to the $20B that the Biden administration sent through FEMA this month that Lee Zelden just found. Money like that and the $80M that was just taken back from NYC (for illegal migrant housing) has to be sent back to the Treasury and either used for the current or next year's budget, paying off debt, or given back to Taxpayers. Am I wrong?

Oh I see what you are saying. You can't pay off debt until Treasury notes expire. Well, you can allocate money from DOGE to pay Treasury notes when they are due.

Yeah that’s what he’s saying, but a shite ton of it is maturing every week so it’s really not a big deal if we actually had the surplus

What has been done so far that is unconstitutional?

Apparently not getting their way is unconstitutional.

Politically it's better. "Here's a check from the money that was being Favred and we put an end to it."

Policywise it's better to reduce the deficit.

Have you seen the preliminary fraud already found in Social Security. There are something like 7 million people in the US receiving SS checks that are older than 120 years old. One person is 362 years old, about 110 years older than our country.

Do you really think Congress will approve sending stimulus checks to people when we are trying to reduce the deficit.

Congress has done it before. Isn’t this the same Congress whose members seek to get re-elected every 2 to 6 years? What incentive do they have to reduce the deficit when the money can go to pay off voters? Don’t you think the average voter will more likely appreciate a $5k check than a minor reduction of the national debt or annual deficit?
