Been down this road before and read some of those links. Some severely flawed and outright wrong logic. Not really wanting to get into that again as I have already provided as many or more links that say the opposite.
An investment in the market would have appreciated 466% over the last 20 years assuming 8% annual return. Better than any of my real estate investments and probably the same for most.
I do agree that real estate can have good returns and has a place in a balanced portfolio. Especially for those who don't understand the stocks or how to read a financial.

There's nothing wrong with parking it in CD's until an opporunity arises that makes sense. Maybe we get a recession in the next 5 years and you have 75k to snap up the deals and be rich 4 years later.
