I'm a college student with about a $4,000 portfolio but looking to keep going and eventually invest it back into real estate. With that being said, would you keep investing into individual stocks, index funds, ETF's, other? Open to any and all suggestions. This question is more or less posed to people with years of experience trading. Thank you for reading.

Buy low. Look at the 52-week range to get an idea of high or low for the stock.

Look for dividend stocks (historically, Q1 2020 obviously isn't normal). Reinvest the dividends.

Avoid companies with a high debt to asset ratio. Less debt = better chance of surviving.

I say I wouldn't spend all my money on whiskey, cigarettes, and women. But in reality, even with what I know now, if I could go back in time to 21, I'd spend even more money on whiskey, cigarettes, and women.

If I were 21 I would blow it all on craps with the Indians in Philadelphia, Mississippi.

I may or may not have done this at 21
