Stop selecting little passages of my entire post you frick nut. Answer the whole post.
It's income at the time of inheritance. But if you inherited money when you're 5. And someone says, "What's your income?"
What do you say?

Also...Chicken is trying to tell us that people who make 20 times the median income in LA are still middle class
lets divide this into 2 threads and it will die.

In other words, you cannot answer rmcc's original question. Thanks.

Lower, middle, and upper are all social classes. You are just making shite up.

Your income since you've been born. $0.
Are you still living in a matter that's considered upper class? You go to the nicest parties. You drive the nicest car. You went to the best school in NY.
What's your income?
what tax bracket are you in?

No
But neither could you
What I could do however is show that you were vastly uninformed on the matter and don't have a concept of how wealth is distributed in this country.
I've also shown that you lack basic reasoning skills. How did you come up with this gem?

Can we agree, for this argument that the top 1% in LA make over $500,000?

that's not what your question asked then. You should have asked, "what's the highest income tax bracket?"

But if you want to say what is upper class, you would say someone who makes about X amount of dollars annually and that will give you a good estimation.
Oh so now we're estimating. Assuming, implying. Hmmmm...
I'm glad definitions in Powerman land are based off of these vagaries.

No
But neither could you

And no it was not "clear". Because the very definition of upper class i" refers to the group of people at the top of a social hierarchy."
i dont give a shite about social class. i wasn't asking about that. how that is not clear to you is beyond me.
social class and economic class are 2 completely different things.

There is no "cutoff"
If you're in the ballpark then you're upper class
350 would be a safe bet for LA since it would qualify you as a top 1%er nationwide. I would imagine it's a bit lower in LA because of the economy here
You're grilling me because I'm not going to google all day until I find out stats on income distribution in LA?
If you're that interested do the research yourself. But I'll bet you any sum of money you want that it's less than 700K

what about that graphic that powerman posted confuses you?

because inherent in the term "Upper Class" is social. Social exists within the very definition of the term.
So when you use the term "upper class" while meaning economic, you're MISUSING THE TERM.
What part of that is hard to understand?

He's just stubborn
frick it
He'd rather talk about inheritance which is clearly not the subject in question when you started the thread

you're an idiot. I used inheritance or money to show you that "annual income" figures in no way can be a definitive factor of class.
That graph depicts annual income.

Of course it's a definitive factor
It's just not the only factor

you've got to be shitting me? all of this because i used a wrong term? the intent of my question was clear. next time, just correct my mis-use of terminology and answer the question.
i wasn't looking for a f'ing lecture.

nope. It's not the conclusive factor. And I've proven it over and over again. But you try to play semantics to ignore it.
We went through that.
And factor by definition has more than one.

No shite
Anyone who reads the question clearly knows what you mean without getting into all of this social class nonsense
