Only later did he start saying um. high INCOME minus EXPENSES x an extended period of time.
And even then, that doesn't make a person upper class it makes them rich.

THERE IS NO DEBATE HERE. what is wrong with you people? income classes are clearly defined and affect your taxes.

I think it was concluded, quite convincingly, that you can't define a person's class based solely on salary...so the second question in the original post cannot properly be answered.

If you're talking about social class you're right

If you're talking about economic class then you're not right

Obviously income isn't the only factor that goes into building wealth but it's the most important factor. You can only get so rich without a high income.

In Louisiana alone, I'd say anything 100k and higher is considered upper class.

Well that would definitely put you in upper middle at worst. Maybe a little bit higher to be in the top 5% though

does this help?

Bill Gates can buy the entire state of Georgia. However, he can never really be a member at Augusta.

And you can't read

The first post asked specifically about salary so we attempted to answer the question as it pertains to that

People can be divided into economic classes just as well as they can be divided into social class

You're thinking of "classy" to mean class while we're talking about economic class.

And since we're morons for confusing income distribution with class, wouldn't that also make you a moron when you tried to come up with a dollar figure yourself?

We understand this

It's a societal thing that you're born into

That's social class

The question at hand was asking about economic class

economic classes really don't have hard-set distinctions, however

that's the problem

Right but it's safe to assume that if you're in the top .5% of wage earners, you're not in the middle class.
