What time does your wife come home, cause I think we might be married to the same women.
Actually, her reading is very convenient. Since she's a night worker she gets up at 3 am on her days off to keep her sleep cycle normal. So, instead of turning on the TV and disturbing me, she makes herself 'dinner' from what I made the previous evening and reads her kindle.
The weird thing before kindle was she never wanted to throw away any hard cover books or give them to friends or family. She hoarded them on bookshelves that I had to construct all over our house.
When someone like a plumber comes in the house it's always "Wow, looks like a library."

Approximating the math, that means your wife reads about ONE book/day, everyday of the year??? Seriously?
It's more than that.
Days off = 2 books per day.
Day's working = 1/2 book per day.
Day's on and off are exactly equal. So, she averages slightly over 1 per day.
Our next Visa Bill is coming tomorrow or the next day. I'll check it and report how much she spent on ebooks last month.
If I forget, start a new thread in 3 or 4 days with "Hey Zach" in the title.

She's a speed reader and doesn't believe in libraries.
i tried the library thing but all the books smell, and i cant read a smelly book.
that would be distracting and ridiculous.

Tackle. I knew it was an issue when my wife added a box on our excel budget for "Fishing Crap"

More - Coffee, but I don't mean at a coffee shop, I rarely ever go to one, but I do buy beans and grind them. The cheap stuff in a can just isn't the same any more.
Less - electronic gadgets. I got a little ipod a couple of years ago for Christmas. I use it at the gym and I just figured out how to hook it up in the truck the other day, so I'm starting to use it there. But the ipads, iphones, computer stuff, and video games most folks I know are crazy over just don't interest me. I'd rather work in the yard, take a nap, or watch TVLand than mess with that stuff all the time.

High end: groceries (including toilet paper), whiskey, absinthe, meals when I dine out (I never order sandwiches or anything fried), books (though certainly not at the rate of Zach's wife, but I do seek out harcover)
Low end: clothes (though I recently spent $100+ on a pair of dress slacks knowing it'll be another 8-10 years before they are out of my wardrobe), cars, haircuts, personal birthdays

That is probably the most productive obsessive compulsive disorder one could hope for in a spouse. I wish my wife was into reading that much. I need something to keep Mrs Stroker quiet so I can read.
