Time in-between interviews

So I had a phone interview on Monday with a company's HR Recruiting Exec. She confirmed with me at the end of the call, and with my recruiter after the interview, that it went well and there would be a 2nd interview with the VP of the dept I'm applying for. However, she isnt the decision maker- the hiring manager is (the VP). And the whole week has just about passed, and we havent heard anything since.
Should I stop getting my hopes up? Or is this delay common? I've been with the same company since graduation (10 years) and have never tested the market till now, so this is all knew to me.

I'm assuming you've already called the company back thanking them for their time and enquired about the process and timing of moving forward with a 2nd interview?

It may be possible that the VP is really busy and they haven't had a chance to set something up yet.
I would follow up if I were you. Just inquire abou tthe status of the 2nd interview.
FWIW, I had a phone interview last Thursday. Emailed me to set up second interview 2 days later. In person interview scheduled for next week.
