Getting approved for covered calls (or cash secured puts) should be a super easy process at Merrill. Even basic retirement accounts are allowed to have those.
Might be worth getting approved for Level 1 or 2 options trading in case something comes up in the future.

I’ll probably look into it more, call and check it out. Never done it or even serious considered it but we’ll see.
