Picked up shares last year and and promptly saw a 20% drop . Popped 35% today.

quote:

The company offers a liquid-cooling option, which seems of growing interest to customers given how much power is necessary when servers run artificial-intelligence applications. “Liquid cooling in the datacenter is a must-have for next generation AI compute hardware solutions with Supermicro seeing as much as 20% of the market in the cloud as liquid cooled,” Mosesmann wrote.

I remember when they were a very small company who made PC BIOS chips. Even as (relatively) recent as 2008, their stock was around $8. It's crazy how they've reimagined themselves.

Just a year ago, it was $70.

Would love more, but I fear the AI bubble pop.

This thing is going to collapse shortly, but I’ve got no clue how high it will get in the interim.

Yeah it’s in some combination of FOMO, short squeeze, and legitimate growth company.

These prices don’t really make any sense, but who cares if you can time it right? I got out around $700 - too rich for my taste.

Is this like a gamestop thing? I dont get it, why on earth would you want liquid cooling in a datacenter? Makes zero sense, the whole building is already liquid cooled.

No, it is a ride the coattails of NVDA thing.

They sell servers loaded with Nvidia chips. You have to put all those GPUs into something and they were ready to roll with the AI boom. They do lack exclusivity and patents, so competition will catch up eventually.

It is a now AI stock, not a long term AI stock.

When done properly liquid cooling allows you to cool the components that need it without having to cool an entire room.

Motivair has been doing this for decades along with companies like Cray.
