Take a look at that NEP Payout ratio on DIV about 150%. That just means that Div is unsustainable. This comes straight from NEP management in Q3 2024 conference call :
“NextEra Energy Partners plans to complete its review by no later than the fourth quarter 2024 call and intends to provide its distribution and run rate cash available for distribution expectations at that time.”
“One of the things that we are evaluating is should we put -- deploying more of our capital towards really growing the underlying cash flow of the business and maybe less towards distributions.”
Basically says if we are going to stay in business then we will be cutting the Div. I think the Div will still be ok after the cut but most are predicting a 50% cut on Div.

I think that’s the reason for the price drop from >$30 to $16-18. My expectation is that you will see similar yield with potential for future growth.

If they cut 50% of div then the Price of the stock goes up in my opinion. I'm waiting for the cut and probably a temporary drop in stock on that news. Then its a buy for me.

Id just like to point out to anyone unaware reading this thread that NEP is an LP, not a normal stock.
Do research of the tax implications of an LP before you buy it. Its a hassle.

Read that NEP issues a 1099 not a k-1.If that is what you are referring to?

Well than that isnt too bad; I was referring to getting a K1 which is typically what happens with an LP stock. And K1's don't typically go out on time before tax day. I dabbled in ET few years back, then decided it wasn't worth the hassle of dealing with the LP, when you take a distribution, your basis changes.

If you like dividends I think NEP is prime to buy. It gives 0.90 cents every quarter and is at a 52 week low and strong history of increasing dividends. Plus its only 17 dollars a share
Distributions suspended.
Hope you got out bacon.

I actually did. The more I looked at it the more I soured on it so I sold my shares for a slight profit. However PANW big winner for me since I posted about buying more shares when it dropped into the 160's. It back in the 190's a few weeks later
