I began an independent insurance agency 4.5 years ago seeing that there was an opportunity in the marketplace (Gulf Shores).
Worked nights and weekends in the first two summers at bars to make ends meet.
Business is now booming.
However, as you can prob tell, we are going through hundreds of claims. One out of every three policies we write has a claim.
I, out of benevolence, gave one of my three full time agents 2 months of maternity leave, beginning 9/9. First day back was Monday. Within 15 min, she put in her two week notice.
Being the boss has its perks, but also has its stresses.

I worked in the hotel industry from 1990 to 2005. I had a good time, I worked my arse off, I rose to a position of power, I made decent money and had great benefits.
I saved about 70 grand during that time.
In 2006 I started a business, been at it ever since. From 2006 to 2020 I have saved about 750K and should make that an even 1M buy year end.
working for yourself isn’t the only way to wealth, but it is a way.

Consider buying a business instead of starting a new one. It could be an much easier/quicker ramp up. I imagine now is a good time to find some folks who are ready to retire or just can't make it work anymore due to pandemic.

This the right idea here. So many perks and so many ways to trade.
Learn all you can about various ways to trade, especially selling out of the money options.
Paper trade while you learn.
Your dollars are your employees and you can put them to work or send them on vacation at any time.
