I'm reducing my 401k S&P500 exposure because of this.

Because every possible metric shows how ridiculously overvalued it is. Too risky for me. I know shorts have been regularly destroyed but it will come down eventually. And now you've got this guy talking about it: The Big Short Guy

If I realized that profit on TSLA this year I would most definitely be selling. But I don't own TSLA. It was overvalued before the split.

Tesla doesn't make sense, so it'll go to 800 by year's end

And Michael Burry will get burned just like everyone else who has shorted it and then when they have to cover their shorts, bang. Stock goes higher again. Valuations don't matter on a stock like Tesla.

I've heard that one before back around 2000 when all the experts were talking about "the new economy" and how the "old rules don't apply." Well, they sure did apply.

If I'm talking about my long-term 401k why would I be concerned with the day to day price of TSLA?

Amazon earns massive profits. The "new economy" companies did not. Tesla doesn't make much.

How are they making money? If credits are taken away would they have been profitable over the last year?

watch out, you're triggering the tesla pumpers that don't give two shits about fundamentals

all they care about is hype, the way the stock is trading pretty much is betting that almost everyone in this country will own a tesla product in the next 5 years

I sold most of my position last week at 665 so it will probably go to 1000-1200 by year end.
